I’LL GET TO IT I’LL GET TO IT OKAY

So I now officially own an electric guitar, a bass guitar, a keyboard, and a drum set. All the pieces to theoretically put together a band. And I also officially know how to play 0 of them. The only one I have made any real progress in is with the piano. I’m also taking a voice class and a piano class. Yesterday my mom honestly asked me if I had changed my major from Biology to Music or something. I’ve also been taking to writing lyrics in my free time too. I don’t know if this is just a “phase” or if this is something I’m gonna throw myself into, but I really hope it isn’t a phase. For one, I’ve already sank a lot of money into this, and two, I really love music and I would love to be able to play instruments and make my own music. I’ve always secretly wanted to be in a band and even though I’m definitely late to this game, I’d love to get better at these instruments and make some of my own music. Also, I’ve never really had a hobby so it’d be nice to have something to say during those awkward icebreakers on the first day of classes instead of, “I dunno, just hangin’ out.”

I always seem drawn to play either the keyboard or the drums though. If I was in a band I’d want to sing and play the keyboard, and the piano is super fun to play I’ve found, so I think I’m gonna throw myself into that first. Also, people say that if you learn the piano you can pick up other instruments a little easier too, so that’s a plus.

Or I could just strap both guitars over my shoulders, sit at the drum set with the keyboard to my side and the microphone in front of me and just play all of them at the same time, either way.
